Was Bones adorable tonight or what?
Okay, I am not a huge fan of Angela/Wendell, because I am still hoping Angela and Hodgins will get back together, but all the Booth/Brennan/aliens/Lone Gunman stuff was fun (That was one of the Lone Gunmen as the diner owner, right? The one with the mullet whose name I am completely blanking on? Not Frohike and not Byers... what the hell was his name? Wait, Langly? Was it Langly? *old brain is old*) The XF theme song as the dude's ringtone! Aliens as nice anthropologists! ADORABLE!
Also, are they SERIOUSLY going to do a JFK assassination episode? With Principal Wood? You guys, I don't even know what to do with that. *hands*
I did in fact watch tonight's rerun of "Abandon All Hope,"
and I still cried, though not nearly as much, but man, I am still pissed at the writers and how DUMB they are and how DUMB they handled things in this episode. Not even going into the part where Lucifer doesn't just, oh, I DON'T KNOW, KILL DEAN WHILE HE'S RIGHT THERE, but hi, Sam, you know the demons have been ordered not to hurt you. MAYBE YOU SHOULD HELP YOUR BROTHER YOU SO JO DOESN'T GET MAULED, WTF? ALSO, why is he just standing there listening to Lucifer's bullshit? Like, Sam had such a great moment when he was all, "Haven't we learned anything? If we go, we go together." And I really think the insulting exchange over the beers was actually healthy - sure, it covers resentment and it's picking at the scabs that have barely started forming over the wounds, but the fact that they even MENTIONED it, let alone joked about it, says that things are way better than they were on that front. I just wish I trusted the writers to do right by Sam going forward, and remember that he's not solely responsible for the situation they're in now. Also, Mark Pellegrino is kind of awesome, and Mark Sheppard is TOTALLY awesome. And as always, I raise a toast to Jo and Ellen.
You know what I'd like, the story of Bobby and photography. I bet he took that picture of John and the kids from season 1. And various other post-Mary pictures. Hmm...
I also have thoughts on spoilers I've read for future episodes, but I'll save that for another post at a later date.
Then I watched Friday Night Lights.
Yes, Coach is a tool sometimes, but then he's all, "I know our relationship needs nurturing," and "I owe you a date," and he's just... he admits when he's been a jerk, though not in so many words, and he makes up for it. ♥ I love their relationship so so much.
Vince! ♥ Is it wrong to want Jess to go back to him? I like Landry a lot, but his romantic escapades have never thrilled me - I'm one of the few people I know who didn't like Tyra/Landry, and I'm not big on Jess/Landry either.
I am loving Vince SO HARD though (and you know it was Steve Harris who Munch told not to lie to him like Montel Williams, right? So I feel that little twinge of HLotS/Wire affection when he and Michael B. Jordan share a scene; eta and D'Angelo! I didn't even - I blame being really tired on not recognize D'Angelo. Holy crap, how'd I completely miss that? /eta). I'm so pleased they're finally giving Steve Harris things to do, because he is also awesome.
And Coach at the football game! With the young kid! Buddy's belief in the healing power of football is actually kind of sweet, though I would rather not think of him and Mayor Rodell in any capacity.
You know, I don't dislike Becky - I like that Tim's sort of taken her under his wing as a younger sister (and I don't want them to get involved sexually) - but this whole pregnancy thing just makes me wish that she'll go to the clinic and see MAMA SMASH, which would be AWESOME! MAMA SMASH NEEDS TO COME BACK AND TALK SENSE INTO THESE KIDS! I really hope she goes through with the abortion, but I am afraid the show will just have her miscarry so she doesn't have the kid but they don't have to deal with the ramifications. Maybe they will surprise me, though.
Mostly, though, I made heart-eyes at Coach and Vince.
I might need a Vince icon. I should look into that.
