Exactly! And even better, it's something Dean actively DISCOURAGES Sam from pursuing.
And I really hope there will be some kind of dealing with it next season because, stupid as it was, they both got played and everything went to hell and it was the choices they made that caused it.
Yeah, I really hope they don't just drop it.
Lots of things would've gone different if they just talked to each other. I know they're guys and manly and all that, but doesn't have to mean they're incapable of communicating. I'm not even talking about how much they love each other, just... I don't know, the important stuff like, I don't know, 'hey, Dean, Ruby says drinking her blood is just what I need, what do you think?'
Hee! Yes. But Sam knew Dean wouldn't approve, so he lied, and Dean couldn't see past his anger and fear so he didn't listen even when Sam made overtures, and they really need to get better at that stuff.
