Work = busy, but at least shit got done today. Hopefully that will keep up, because I have two committee meetings next week, one the week after that, and then a board meeting the week after that, and I have to coordinate all the crap that goes along with it, while dealing with board members who apparently can't be arsed to let us know whether they are planning to attend or not. *sigh*
I left work right at 5 pm on the dot because I had to get all the way up to the UPS customer service center because there was a package waiting for me. Apparently they have this new basic service where they only try once to deliver a package, and then you have to pick it up? I dunno. So I had to schlep over to 11th Avenue and 43rd Street, and then back home, so I spent a lot of time this evening on the M42 bus, which was surprisingly uncrowded, considering the massive hordes of people on the street - I guess most tourists prefer not to take their chances on the MTA?
So I am home now, and fed and sitting on the couch, barely able to keep my eyes open.
So, things I would like to talk about when I actually have some brainpower: a list by victoria p. aged 38 and 10 months.
= more thinky thoughts on "Lucifer Rising"
= My issues with addiction storylines (and how they are generally handled poorly on American network television), and how I'm trying to detangle that strand from the other strands of Sam's storyline (and how difficult that is, and how much it informs how I view the characters and their behaviors)
= SPN s4 (and season 5 spec) and Mike Carey's Lucifer
I'd say I want to discuss the show's skanky gender issues (and the fandom's, and the way they feed into each other, a nasty symbiotic relationship neither side wants to acknowledge), but I'm not sure I'll ever have enough energy for that.
I also would like to do some writing and answer some comments, but I think I am going to take a shower and go to bed.
