I just happened to be rereading this the other night, and this is so tonally right, so Richard/Alec it's amazing. Sometimes I think canon relationships can almost be harder to write than non-canon, because there IS the author's vision to measure against, an established voice and dynamic that's clear in the text and you just nailed this, Vic, you really did. Amazingly good.

Thanks so much, Dre! I'm so happy you thought it felt like them, because I was worried I wasn't capturing them correctly - Alec is not an easy character to write, even from someone else's POV, and Richard is a strange mix of action and zen that sometimes feels like passivity.
