it's not always going to be this grey

Man, what happened to television being entertaining? I was in a pretty good mood last night and then I watched tv and my good mood sank into the mad reds.

First, I watched the last two episodes of The Office, and man, that was depressing. Oh, Jim. Oh, Pam. Oh, Toby. Still hate Ryan. Still love Stanley.

And then I watched Battlestar Galactica.

Watching this show now is like reading an epic story that started out really awesome and then somewhere around the middle things started going south, and the writer does all sorts of tricks to try to pull it out, and you think it's going to work, so you keep reading, because you love all the characters and their relationships, even if things get rocky, but then things go sour again, with long boring stretches following characters you don't care about, and then they kill off your favorite! But they bring her back! And they promise things are going to wrap up with a bang. But then they break all the characters and relationships you love.

I gave up expecting BSG to make sense plot-wise a while ago, but character-wise, I just feel battered. It was hard enough to see the relationship between Adama and Kara broken, but now they've had Helo lead a mutiny against her, and gah. HELO + KARA = BFF AND NOW THEY ARE BROKEN AND MY HEART IS ALL HURTY! *cries*

I am so tired of Leoben and his blah blah blah, though he was more interesting this time around. I like it much better when Kara is holding him captive. I wouldn't mind her killinating him some more, to be honest.

Oh, Kara, you are breaking my heart. Sigh.

Wow, Tory is really working the evil bitca vibe, huh? And Baltar is not amusing me anymore. Sigh. Though I admit, I did really ike the ending, where Chief offers him his hand.

They used to do a better job integrating separate storylines - I want Adama and Roslin (and Six!) *and* Kara Thrace and her Special Destiny *and* the New! Improved with Free Will! Cylons! all in the same episode! Doing things that will eventually relate to each other!

I also want MORE SIX. Jesus, so many problems with this show could be resolved simply by ADDING MORE SIX. Every time I think they've figured it out, they give me an ep with NO SIX AT ALL and that is just NOT ON. More Six, lots of Kara, some Helo and some Mom and Dad, and I am a happy viewer. Unless they are all breaking each other's hearts, then I am... a sad happy camper.

Las night, I dreamt that Dean Winchester was dating Diana Prince, aka, Wonder Woman, and both of them were keeping their secret identities hidden, and she broke it off with him because she didn't want to lie anymore and he was very upset and went out and killed a lot of monsters to dull the pain. And then they ran into each other on the job, as it were. I woke up before everything was resolved, but hopefully they got back together.

Someone should write that for me.

So maybe y'all can help a sister out. I have this awesome halter dress that I would like to actually be able to wear (specifically, I have a wedding to go to Memorial Day weekend and I'd like to be able to wear it then), but because it is a halter dress and has a low back and a bit of a plunging neckline, I have been unable to find a bra in my size (42DDD) that works. Does anyone have suggestions?

It needs to be:

+low back
+plunging front (preferably with as close to full coverage as possible otherwise)
+halter strap (or convertible to halter strap)
+black
+42DDD

Anyone?

*packs up latest failure to send back to Lane Bryant*

There was fic last night for Sam Winchester's birthday! I will be mentioning this repeatedly, as posting on Friday night is like posting into a void.

Thirteen Ways
Supernatural; Sam/Dean (Sam/Jess); pg; spoilers through Mystery Spot; 1,690 words
Thirteen ways of looking at Sam Winchester.

I'd been kicking around this particular structural idea for a while, trying to figure out an appropriate subject, and yesterday when I realized that Sam's birthday was upon us and I had nothing prepared, I decided Sam would work. I think this is one story that really relies on knowledge of canon to work, because everything that happens in it is tied explicitly to an event in canon, rather than just using canon as a jumping off point. Anyway, I really like how it turned out, and I'm glad some of you did, too. Thanks for letting me know.

Happy birthday, Sammy! I know you managed to save Dean from hell somehow, and that's the best present ever.

Lunch now, I think.
