once you were in my rearview mirror

I just got back from seeing OotP. *sniffle*

Alyssa: "Are you crying?"
Me: "Shut up."

I liked it. I thought it did a good job of streamlining a long and somewhat overly convoluted book into a movie that moved along at a fairly good clip.

I got sniffly whenever Sirius was around, especially in the tapestry scene, and when he was like, "When it's all over, we'll be a family." And again at the "You've done beautifully. Let us take it from here" at the DoM. I got sniffly when Neville revealed the thing about his parents. I got sniffly when Luna talked about her mom, and about her stuff being missing. And! And! When Ron was like, "But maybe you don't have to do it by yourself!" Woo! One bulletproof kink served, thank you very much. And of course I got sniffly when Sirius was AK'd (WTF?) and when Remus had to hold Harry back, and when Harry was fighting the Voldemort in his head.

I did not like that Sirius called Harry "James" - Sirius has NEVER confused Harry for James, except in the heads of Molly Weasley and misguided fangirls. And apparently the script-writer of this movie (who was not, thank jebus, Steve Kloves).

I missed the joint gift. And also the mention of Regulus. And the swamp. And "It unscrews the other way." But mostly I was well-pleased.

So, bring on book 7.
