Summary: Lilu is ill.
Lilu groaned and turned over onto her stomach. She pulled the closest cushion to her over her head and buried her face into the couch.
“And what is wrong with you?” Dominique chimed as she momentarily glanced at her cousin over the top of the magazine she was reading.
The response was another groan as Lilu rolled over onto her back. She blew a piece of hair out of her eyes irritably and frowned.
Rose flicked channels on the television and raised her eyebrow at the groaning red head of the room. “Someone’s grumpy,” she muttered before turning her attention back to the box in the corner.
“Nargles,” Molly half-sang. She was plugged into her iPod and was singing away happily to herself in between talking to her cousins.
“I’m fine,” Potter grumbled, “I’m just feeling a little under the --” She cut the sentence short as she grabbed her mouth in surprise and ran out of the living room.
The girls all looked at each other and, after a few moments of stunned silence, Dominique jumped to her feet and followed Lilu’s path to the bathroom. Before she made it out of the room, however, Lilu appeared back in the doorway, her face a sickly green colour.
“Are you ok?” Molly asked; worry working its way into her features as she turned off her music.
Lilu sank into the armchair beside the door, clutching her stomach.
“Maybe bacon isn’t such a good idea now,” Rose pointed out. “Hold on, I’ll go and tell Albus.”
She disappeared for a moment and then re-appeared with Albus. He looked worried as well. The youngest Potter had started complaining about wanting bacon. Dominique was trying to convince her otherwise.
It was about ten minutes later before they were all at the table devouring platefuls of cooked breakfasts. Because Albus had left for work, there were only girls at the table and so it wasn’t long until they were gossiping.
Molly, half way through talking about a scandalous act committed by the friend of a friend, stopped and started staring at Lilu. She was practically shovelling the food into her mouth and she only paused to raise her eyebrow at the others who had joined in the staring to ask, “Do I have food on my face?”
Dominique raised her eyebrows. “Lilu, ma cousine, you are eating like zer is no tomorrow!”
Lilu shrugged. “You have to eat like this when you’re feeding two…” Her eyes widened when she realised what she had just said. Already off her chair, she was backing out of the dining room, her hands raised, repeating over and over again, “I didn’t just say that.” But the others weren’t listening and in seconds all three had pounced on their cousins and were cooing over the prospect of having a baby niece or nephew.
An hour later, Aidan came home from work to find the girls huddled together on the couch. He managed to half pull Lilu from their grasps to give her a quick kiss before he escaped. Half way up the stairs, he was thinking about what they had all said to them. He could have sworn Molly had said something about him suiting the name ‘Daddy’…
