Who: John Constantine - "Hellblazer Film"
What: Constantine hates those halfbreeds; angel and demon alike.
Everywhere John walked, every place he visited, there were eyes watching him from every angle of the city, keeping a 'close watch' on the man who sought out to do right in the world; or at least Los Angeles. Filthy halfbreeds, as John liked to call them, always seemed to follow his presence whenever he stepped out of his apartment and into a world full of the sleeping. Normal people hadn't the faintest idea that heaven and hell were closer to them then they'd ever believe possible, but not that it mattered to them, for there was nothing that God, or even Lucifer could do to interfere. They'd merely sit back and watch the humans, as if it were some sort of great movie to them, and often be an audience participant and whisper lines in the actor's ears.
There were those, the halfbreeds, who were brought here to keep an eye out for humans, the greater power's seeing eyes, the messenger's to all things great and obscured; the journalists. Yet somehow, John despised the fact that they were here on Earth tormenting him because of his ability, but more so for the fact that several of them couldn't wait until he died and was sent to where he belonged, especially Balthazar. Two decades ago, John couldn't take the pressure of his 'curse' and tried to end his very life, but because Suicide is a mortal sin, he was sent to a place he wished never existed.
Those moments in hell seemed to live on in his mind forever and the thought of escaping seemed rare; he was plagued with the cause of his own death forever, the faces of demons and tortured souls surrounding him, but soon enough John felt his body fading away from the hellfire and back into the real world. Was it a miracle? No, science. Somehow, John had been revived and spared the eternity of damnation; but for how long? He knew he'd only end up back into hell, so doing right in the world would do good for himself and hopefully his soul. He was trying to win his way into heaven.
