I spent the entire weekend working for my mom, which was kinda fun since it was pretty slow. They didn't really need my help, but my mom is too nice to make me go home. And she likes having me there 'cause I'll talk to her and actually work, more than some of the permanent workers.

Monday and Tuesday I was working my ass off. The full moon really brings out the worst in the kids, as we could see when I was on the ground more than I was standing up. Every time I got up from a protective hold, I would immediately be assisting with another hold--and it wouldn't be for the same kid. We had so many fights break out, and there was not enough room to house the five, six, sometimes seven kids who would be in Time-Out at the same time. What a madhouse. And to think I was excited about being free of the classroom. My work as a classroom assistant never ends, though these two days were voluntary.

Monday afternoon, I drove by the lot where the house is going to be built, and I was shocked that they had knocked down all of the trees already. It was kinda cool. But Julie said that they haven't progressed much past that point. So I don't know what's going on now. She knew it would take six months anyway, but I'm glad to see that it's finally starting, and that I don't have to look at any more friggin' floorplans.

Tuesday afternoon, I was sooooooooo tired that I drove home and fell into the bed for an hour-long nap. I was woken up by the phone--my sister, calling to see what I needed from Wal-Mart. That nap helped me a lot. My muscles had been aching all day from the six or seven holds I had that day, in addition to the six or seven from the day before. And these aren't gentle holds, where you keep the kid down and they're pliant. Oh, no. They're kicking and screaming and fighting and trying to break free, and in the meantime, I'm timing the hold and trying to keep my ribs from being kicked in and everything else. But most of the people who work there are used to being on the ground, and I was amazed at how quickly we got some of the kids down. I work best with one of the women who has been there the longest. Whoa, did we get some of the kids down quick! (Getting them down quick means there is less time for them to kick you in the face, slap you in the face/head/arm/chest, bite you in the arm/hand, spit in your face, etc.)

Anyway, the nights went by quickly enough. I found a new author, Christine Warren. I love me some paranormal books, even if they are *ahem* racy. =D I've been reading her the past few nights as well.

Today I had a better work day. It was still stressful and much too much to handle for some--including one woman who is usually unflappable who had to walk away from a situation with one of the kids. That shocked me, since I didn't think she'd ever get to the breaking point. But it just goes to show that everyone has one. Anyway, I did a lot today, not that I billed for much. State is coming in and reviewing us, our charts, our performance... So stress has been high. I'll be glad when this week is over.

And tonight, I sunk to a new low. I had to have me a cosmopolitan when I realized Julie had gotten some cranberry juice. But I didn't have a shaker. Well, being the wonderfully creative person I was (with the assistance of my innovative sister), I used a.... *drumroll please* sippee cup, complete with the holes to strain it. That was sad. But the drink was delish. =D

Gina cancelled on me tonight, not that I minded too much. I did want to play some pool, though. Maybe next week I'll go by myself.

And now I'm off to clean the apartment. Julie has to have it perfect for the weekend, which means I have to do everything since she's pretty lax about the details. Later.
