I had to read Coraline my sophomore year in high school and I've loved the book ever since. I finally got the nerve to watch the movie tonight and it wasn't that bad. Still prefer the book over the movie though. Anyway, I always had a soft spot for the cat and I just had the wild idea of Cat being humanized for some reason.
I could also play with the love/hate relationship that Wybie and Coraline have.
Also, I've aged Coraline up a bit!
