So, I am thinking a girl hippie, moved from a small town to Haight Ashbury around the time of the San Francisco Renaissance, very sweet, almost childish, needs some looking after.

I'm loving the idea. California vampires I see as being kind of progressive, so a hippie vampire'd be a natural fit.

Despite barely having started the third book, there's a very strange part of me that also thinks that a blood-spattered poodle skirt would be awesome. And I'm a pretty fast reader, so if no one picks her up I'd love to. And if someone does... I have another vampire that might like Cali who needs a journal.

Looks like you have someone (much more familiar with the books than I am) for the sheriff. In which case, I actually have two vampires who I could throw in, or a werewolf or two. They're from original canons, but they could be TB vamps/weres with minimal changes especially since none of them has a journal yet anyway. I was thinking of Charity--a very old, very sadistic vampire who will be six forever and likes latching on to a 'father figure' who's the only one who can control her. (Yes, I picked her name for irony.)
