Canon: Modern AU of Aladdin. Jasmine is a dignitary's daughter, getting her Masters in International Studies with a focus in Women and Gender Studies. She wants to be a goodwill ambassador some day, working to help women who have fallen victim to the sex trafficking trade. Loves travel and long walks on the beach under the moonlight, etc.
Aladdin can be whomever you want. Fellow classmate? Coffee shop boy? I'm open. Maybe Jafar is a creepy professor at her school? We can work it out.
