So allow me to elaborate on what I mean by the muse wanted. I have this plot planned out for an AU of Irina (actually sort of intertwined with another character of mine, illuminutty) that Irina is not actually Russian but an American. Her name was Madalyn Stone, and she was kidnapped as a child, but the news stories around her disappearance never went far.
In actuality, she was taken by a very secret and hidden sect of the CIA and sold into a high-profile prostitution ring that serves VIPs from all areas of society. None of her clients know the truth about her, except that she was probably brought into sex trafficking from a young age. But none of them care too much except to buy her services. She underwent intense sexual and drug abuse and, well, brainwashing, until her mind fractured. Now she truly believes she is Irina Yurieva, the Russian daughter of a drug addict who was "saved" from the streets by the people she works for, and works for them because otherwise she'd be either killed or sent back to the Russian streets.
What I'm thinking here, is that Irina beings to have flashbacks of her old life. She was thirteen when she was picked up on the way home from school, never to be seen by her family or friends again. That was almost a decade ago, and she's been through a lot of shit since then. Though she might appear to be okay, she's not. Maybe she runs into someone who knew her as as a kid, and they recognize her, or maybe she suffers some sort of head trauma in an accident that affects her memories. That's all up to be decided, really. But ideally I'd just like to have her realize who she really is and possibly be removed from her captors and try to get her life back in order as Madalyn Stone.
It could also be that one of her clients wants to help her, or a detective working on the Madalyn Stone case, or even one of the agents handling her now as Irina. Her handlers are also Russian, mostly to confuse her even more as far as who she's actually working for. Or if anyone is interested in writing as one of her clients or handlers without trying to remove her from her situation. I'm up for other ideas!
As for where illuminutty comes in, with her being a crime blogger, she writes about Madalyn's disappearance, as well as others that could be related. Of course I'd be happy if anyone were to want to plot about her as well, but this post is primarily for Irina/Madalyn. Thanks for reading, if you've gotten this far!
