I get that. If you just wanted to write with yourself, that's what fanfic is for. I've never actually gone over to DW properly -- I tried briefly with one of my Once Upon a Time muses, but it never took. IDK. I may end up wandering for people to play with.

So far, I'm adoring our thread on the rooftop, and have yet to meet your Steve. Looking forward to it, though. FWIW, warwasincolour is one of the good Steves I've seen on here.

Nat's one of those characters who was always kind of someone I meant to pick up. I'd written Irina Derevko from Alias years ago, so there's some vague memories of KGB history kicking around the back of my head somewhere, and honestly, it was threadstalking your Bucky that made me consider giving her a shot. Kind of loving her tbh.

Bruce/Nat would be interesting. I take her at her word, though, when she says there's nothing romantic with her and Clint. My muse's take on it is that Clint would like there to be, that he has this romantic notion of her from being the guy that brought her around to the side of the angels, as it were, and he doesn't get that her defection was at least 55% pure pragmatism and any conscience that's developed since is incidental. (And a pain in her ass.)

I'm rambling. Sorry!

ETA: Getting me started on my Soldier/Widow or Cap/Widow feels is likely to lead to lots of rambling. Caveat lector.

I prefer the slower pace of LJ, but bakerstreet has some sweet memes and some impressive muses attached, and LJ just has slim pickings. Unfortunately. So I keep a balance.

Feel free to link me if Natasha pops up, and I'll toss Steve in, or hit up Steve when he's about. And I know warwasincolour, they are absolutely wonderful, they are actually the Joseph to my Jack from Kings. So I'd gladly take them for a plotted verse with Nat and Bucky as well, if we ever organize/the chemistry fits. I have no competitive Steve!feels, he's more of an experiment (not really my muse archetype). The more, the better, the gladder I am.

I'm incredibly glad you got around to her, she needs her own film, really. Like, really. And ramble away! I love getting a feel for the unique edge people give their muses, headcanon, etc. Makes it easier to plot specific to them. Write messages full of it, I'll take them gladly.

Icon love, once again. V apropos. Heh.

And yes. Really really. Looking forward to seeing Scarlett in Lucy, but yes, Widow-movie now please. Rumor has it there's some footage of girls in ballet school in part of the Ultron footage from Comic-Con, because Joss, but my fingers are crossed that the only reason they've not included her in the apparently very full rundown between now and 2019 is that they're giving Scarlett breathing space to have her kid.

warwasincolour and I had actually been wondering about connecting with a Bucky, too, so that might be an opening. The thread I've got going with them right now has taken a Cap/Nat shippy turn, but that's another issue for Nat, because Steve brings up worthiness issues for her. My Nat kind of expected to deeply dislike Steve and have it be so incredibly mutual because they are so opposite on paper. Instead, he seems to bring out a protectiveness in her and an admiration, that someone could be as gallant and dutiful and noble-minded, and actually be for real.

Add James/Bucky to the mix, and it gets messy as hell, because she knows Steve's looking for the man he remembers and she's damn sure that even if Barnes gets his memories back, he's never going to be as shiny white knight as the star-spangled man with the plan.

Also, regarding specific headcanons, etc, I'd love to hear yours, too.

Anyway, the short version is yes: let's give this a shot. I'm around for another hour, hour and a half this evening if you're about and wanna play some. Otherwise, weekdays are harder to predict.

Omg you guys I'm gonna cry you're so sweet ;_;

YOU HAVE MY BOW-- wait no wrong movie. What I mean is yes, yes all the yes. I love playing with both of you so much and we should all do things together.

I'm doing for mushing our current verses together or staring something new or whatever you guys want.

I'm at work for a few hours yet but count me in for like, everything ever.

partypartyparty.

I can help with any hunting Winter Soldier shenanigans between Steve and Nat, just as the elusive buttface. I know they have plenty to do and chat about without him there. Also good for when Bucky turns himself in, or--however that preferably proceeds.

Gonna eat all that Thai food and make Fury hella uncomfortable.

The complicated emotions/ inter- relations of the three of them are so meaty, so interesting. Love to see it get all messy.

Nat's not so good with the emotional stuff, after all.

FEELINGS ARE COMPLICATED :(

For my Steve, Bucky is just -- the centre of his universe. He hung the sun and the moon as far as Steve is concerned, and he loves him with all his heart.

But he also has a very great affection for Nat, and it's getting all sorts of confusing for him. Which will just get compounded when Bucky starts coming back to him/them, and then with Natasha and Bucky's feelings for each other Steve might want to just step out of the way and let them be together because that's the sort of guy he is, and just --

I want everyone to be happy okay ;_;

I have a lot of feelings about all the possible vertices of this triangle. I have such Steve/Bucky feels, be they platonic or romantic or just beyond categorisation. I have Winter Widow feels because she knew how to feel once upon a time when she loved him. And I have Romanogers feels because he shakes her up and is everything she never thought people could actually be.

Bucky thinks they should get it.

Natasha should have Steve because he spent his youth convincing half of the women in New York that Steve Rogers was this real outstanding guy, and he is, and she deserves it, and Steve should have Natasha because she's the next best thing Bucky knows, and only the best for Steve.

But truthfully I don't care if there is or isn't a romantic edge to any of it. I plot outside of that, I don't do it for the shipping, though that sort of chemistry lends all sorts of other development. So as it comes.

I also discussed the Steve/Bucky thing with warwasincolour, and I tend to assume that Bucky did not have consciously romantic feelings for him. For memes, I'll play out moments, but overall, I go with a tightly wound brotherly dynamic. He's very fond of the ladies. Though that could become blurred, for him, depending on events.

As far as Natasha is concerned any 'having' will be determined on a case by case basis and she's likely to be grumpy at the faintest sniff of this sort of passing around ;)

I do get the decisions to just let it all play out, let the chemistry and plots decided. That's how I generally prefer it. Keeps it interesting.

As she should be. Bucky always sorely needs to be told off in one way or another.

But they both need to keep Steve in this box because Steve makes poor life choices. I mean, look at this face:

Steve is the king of rushing in where angels fear to tred. And doing it for the best possible reasons.

It's a good thing he has Nat and Bucky to watch his star spangled ass.

Also I would still totally like for Nat to meet your Steve.

Somebody's gotta clean up after the glitter.

I'll toss my Steve up somewhere in a few, as I finish your other tag, unless you want me to tag in on you.

Steve makes the worst life choices and needs to be kept on a leash for his own health and safety. I am shocked he managed not to get himself killed pre-serum and honestly that's probably only because Bucky was there to make sure he didn't do too much dumb shit.

I mean, everyone paints Bucky as the bad boy but Bucky's idea of a great date was a SCIENCE FAIR while Steve was starting back alley fights. Bucky probably was the one to make sure Steve was mummified in scarves and that he had his hat and mittens (probably clipped to his coat cuz otherwise he'd lose one or give them to a homeless person) so he didn't get pneumonia in the winter.

Bucky and Natasha can start the Protect Steve From His Own Dumb Self club. Sam can be treasurer.

I think Bucky lived a precarious balance of making the poor choices of a healthy, streetwise kid, and scolding Steve for trying to make his own poor choices. He obviously knows him so well by the point of First Avenger that he can call Steve's bad choices moments after he makes them. "Oh, Steve's at the theatre, better swing in, WAIT, better check the alley."

I absolutely think he was stuffing Steve into scarves to the point the guy was dying of heat exhaustion. Calling on him unexpectedly. There's some mixed fanon about whether they were roommates, etc. That would just be further fodder to coddle Steve until he was crazy and kicking the walls. But I'm sure there were some points as a kid where he earned that caution. I read some cute thing where an adolescent Steve couldn't leave bed, so lil!Bucky got his wagon, filled it with dirt and worms and grass, and poured it onto his bed before his mother got home. Once he learned Steve's limits, he defended them with earnest.

There's a fanon issue that we should probably sort out, which is whether Bucky enlisted or not. In the pre-canon film specific comic, they both try to enlist. I haven't read it, but I'd been assuming that Bucky had been drafted; his dog tag numbers start with the draft numbers 32 for New York. That, and the actor's comments that Bucky didn't want to go or stay at war, but did it for Steve, etc.

If you want to go with the film comic, enlisting together, I'm good with that, or Bucky telling him he was enlisting, and hiding the draft notice, etc. Not a huge detail, but affects Bucky.
