Comic summary of the two, Bucky trained wee!Nat at the Red Room (the secret train-y...do bad stuff to good people hotspot), they fooled around between missions, on mission, around missions, the facility was like fuuuuck noooo, kicked the shit out of him, tossed him in cryo. He knew her as Natalia, and she called him James. Real casual, good times all around.

If you ever want to alter any of it, or delete it, or suggest anything, have at it. I'm open. The movie version was slightly different, obviously. The comic!Winter Soldier was more aware, and was essentially Russian!Bucky. The film version seems like he's been punishingly fried so many times that he needs help tying his shoes. I try to reconcile it. I talked a bit about in some above comments.

I'm fine with that. I would assume she'd know more about his methods than Cap and Falcon would, the go to survival handbook of the Red Room. If she cares about Cap all that much, she may not want him to walk in on the Soldier totally naive and hopeful tomorrows, without having gauged it herself. He is a mean mofo. But how she comes at it, all you.

I'm caught up in theory, pretty aware of those points, currently tracking down some actual reading material though :)

That's sort of my thinking, exactly. She cares about Steve. Him trying to find the soldier and getting knocked about again isn't in her game plan. There's things that shouldn't happen to heroes/things heroes shouldn't have to do -- and Steve's a hero in her book. So she'll deal with it, thanks.

There's possibly also some small sentimentality/curiosity at play. Movie Nat points out that she knows what it's like to be unmade, after all.

It's the best. Enjoy it, when you find it!

I'm good with all of that. I usually test chemistry around the comms, and if people can stand my Bucky, we can do journal/plottish things as suits. Where do you want to pick up from? Days, weeks, months after the movie?

That is a breathtaking icon BTW.

Hmmm, weeks/months? She's a pretty good tracker, but he's pretty good at not being found. There's likely a sweet spot somewhere in there.

She's a fairly new muse, so I'm totally open to concrit, fwiw. I have a sws up, if you want it. It's not too far from the top.

sorry for delay! and thank ye kindly, comin' from that icon mug. widow got it goin' on.

Agreed. Quite a bit of touch and go going on, I'd imagine. And also very, very much up for concrit/hearing preferences as far as dynamic. Anytime. I'll try to find a post of hers in a bit.
