Hey there! I have quite a new Peter over here that turned out to become even more active that expected, along with my partner that got herself a Roman. Neither of us do games in communities, but play all the time in sws, smuttysws and personal journals on lj. We would definitely love to have a Letha around if you are interested. <3
I am definitely interested, though I am kind of a newbie to sws and like communities. If that's not too much of a problem I could arrange a journal for Letha on lj.
Nah, its cool, no worries. I'll help with anything you need. :D
Just so you know, Roman's mun and I do ship Romancek, but I'm happy to keep things in separate verses and explore things with Letha. So far we are going through canon little by little in our posts, feel free to comment in anything that Peter has up so far.
I'm really glad! I was thinking that it would be interesting to handle both sides of the ships then maybe? Peter/Letha on one side (a very awkward Peter at first. Whenever I see the first time they get laid I kinda feel that without noticing it Letha pressured him into having sex, which I find incredibly interesting to see on media these days), because they become terribly cute as time passes by. And maybe on the other verse an enabling Letha encouraging her cousin and friend together? //plotting for the win! XD
I was about to say that! I didn't have much hope to find more canonmates, seeing your post kinda stole a squeal of joy out of me.
This is the OP under a new name. I'm waiting for JournalWatcher to upload a few icons for me.
That would be fun, trying both sides. It is interesting that she's the one who initiated things and pressured him into it, especially considering how she's portrayed in other situations. But yes. I could imagine her being all for Roman and Peter being together as long as she doesn't lose either of them as friends.
I hardly ever see anyone playing Hemlock Grove. Hence my digging around on sites other than InsaneJournal.
Heeey you! \o/ Love the username, that's one of my favourite quotes, with the lisp thing! XD
Yes, I think it totally shows another layer of her character. This show doesnt get the appreciation it deserves for both the ammount and great quality of its female characters in it. And Letha initiating things and gently proding Peter into having sex is a very interesting twist for that type of scene. You can tell he is uncomfortable. But "a man has got to be a man". And yes! She'd be terribly cute doing that!
That was a real lucky move. I was considering making a post myself but didn't have much hope.
That's one of my favorite moments between Lynda and Peter, though there are a lot of those.
I haven't read the book yet, but I've heard that the show does a better job of shaping the female characters. I'm just a big fan of everything on the show in general. I can't wait 'til July 11th.
Yes. The last ep, they kill me with cute. How she cuddles him as a wolf and then the goodbyes at her porch. The phone call and her smile growing flowers and her tits making them bloom. Peter's poetry is just pure class.
Me neither, Roman's mun is at it and reporting, but I will order it. But the show is fantastic. I still can't get the bad reviews. There's loooads of little hints and awesome details related to monster mythology and, taking in account that my knowledge is not terribly vast, I picked many hints regarding Romani culture just sneaking in between, nice background touches. Love it.
I'm Rocío, everyone calls me Ro. And its lovely to meet you!
Tumblr is full of cute and awesome Hemlock Grove things. It was actually all of the Romancek gif sets that I saw on Tumblr that really got me to watch the show, but I enjoy all of the Peter/Letha stuff, too. That poem was so uniquely Peter. I love how excited they all were for the baby's arrival.
I have a friend who tells me it's a really great book. It's definitely on my to-read list. I've been so busy lately that it's hard to really devour a book and I want to be able to be dedicated enough to reading it to really get all I can out of reading it. I don't understand the bad reviews, either. I've seen worse shows adored by critics, though. You can't always judge a show by the reviews it gets. I guess the same is true for movies.
It's great meeting you, Ro! I had a question regarding the timeline. How do you guys play it? After season one or during or something else entirely?
I was actually looking forward to watch the show because Peter's transformation came out as a teaser of sorts, and Im a huge werewolf geek and the fact that they did the wolf coming out and breaking the skin totally did it for me. I couldnt believe they used the drinking from the paw either! But anyway, came for that and ended up getting terribly hooked by the Peter/Roman. But yeah, I also enjoy him and Letha. Clearly, Peter/Letha/Roman needs to happen too! XD
( ... )
Oh, yeah, I remember seeing it on YouTube. I guess that's one of the big reasons Hemlock Grove was nominated for a special effects Emmy. Have you ever looked over http://fuckyeahromancek.tumblr.com ? It's packed with cute, sometimes angsty stuff.
I don't hear his accent much. I think he does a pretty good job with an American accent. All of the foreign actors do, in my opinion. The only accent that ever made me curious was Famke Janssen's. As Olivia, I mean. I can never place it. The acting on the show, for the most part, is pretty stellar. I have no issues with the acting.
Ahh, okay! So, so far, you're focusing on things that predate Letha and Peter being together?
Yeah, the effects are pretty ace, love them. And yesss, that blog! I adore it! I was selling the show for Roman's mun by sending her many links to gifs or pretty images from that blog, lol! Clearly, my evil plan totally worked!
Totally agreed. Famke's accent is a bit over the top, and yet for Olivia it somehow works? But overall the acting is pretty great. Im seriously so very curious on what's gonna happen next season, I'm so glad I didnt have to wait a whole year for season 2. XD
Yep, we're mostly filling the gaps in canon by exploring things that were not shown or changing a bit certain scenes. For instance, Roman's mun and I are playing the talk after Roman asks if he can watch, They're now actually going to grab something to eat since Peter said he never turns into a wolf without having a full stomach.
I know Letha and Peter have not had much of an interaction in these eps, but we can always pretend they did before Roman officially introduced them both? Or I can always post something for you, its no problem. <3
Tumblr is full of Romancek shippers, apparently, and that's a good thing. I tried the same thing with a friend of mine, but she says she just can't get the voice right for any of her favorite characters. Your wooing worked better than mine.
Olivia in general is sort of over the top, so of course it works! Family dynamics on this show are awesome. I love Olivia mainly for the way she interacts with Roman. I only just got Netflix this past Christmas, so I didn't have to wait a year, either. Thank god. I'd have exploded midway through the wait.
Cool! Very cool. I'll be reading through your posts.
I'd really appreciate it if you could post something for me to get the ball rolling.
Im baffled by the fact that the show is not even more succesful over tumblr. Its pretty much written for that website. Aww, thats a shame. But i'm glad that because of that you were looking for partners on other sites! So I can't complain!
Yes, thats what makes her so great. And totally agreed, her interactions with Roman are great. I love the Roman/Olivia/Sheelly scenes, theyre so beautifully awkward at times. I don't have netflix, but thankfully I found a place where I could download it all. Im hoping to get it on dvd though, but its not available here, so hopefully Roman's mun will do me the favour.
The only ones you wont be able to read are the ones in smuttysws, but joining in is fairly easy.
Okay, I posted something a little vague to let other posters also tag along, but Im sure Letha wont have a problem figuring who Peter is talking about... http://sixwordstories.livejournal.com/76614744.html
The Godfrey family scenes are wonderful because they're so crazy. I mean, I don't think I can put what I mean into words. They're this dysfunctional family, but at least Roman and Shelley have a very loving sibling relationship. I received Netflix as a present and Hemlock Grove turned out to be the first thing I watched on there. I marathoned it. I didn't know it was available for download anywhere, but I guess you can find just about anything if you look hard enough. The internet is amazing in that way.

That's no trouble at all. I ship them, too. I'm just glad to have other Hemlock Grove muses to play off of.
