Cal was fired from his nice job at a sous chef at an upscale London restaurant just before Christmas, and since then he's been hopping between temp jobs and burning through his savings trying to pay rent and also maybe start his own bakery. He finally took his brother up on an offer to work at the Hog's Head, since at least then he'll have a steady income & it's sort of food-related.
You know what Cal needs?
Cal needs a sugar daddy. Someone to pay his rent and invest in his business and maybe just buy him pretty things. Someone who maybe frequents the Hog's Head, so therefore probably isn't the most upstanding citizen, and he's intrigued by the pretty new bartender. Maybe he's married, maybe he's just a cad, maybe he's 100% only in it for Cal's cute booty. But they can make it work. Maybe?
I will be the first to admit that, yes, this is not the basis for the healthiest relationship. But I think it could evolve into something really interesting, either sincerely romantic or just completely NOT. I'm up for whatever, so let me know what you think!
