Allie Mackenzie - 11 years older than Dinah, the two of them have never really been close, but thanks to their mother, they've become experts at faking it. When she was 17, Allie was devasted by the death of her (identical) twin sister, Androma (Andie). Andie was a skilled pianist and even composed a bit, but she suffered from severe depression. She was on medication to help her deal with it, but was often known to go off of it for days at a time, mostly when she was trying to compose. Their parents, having been told by the doctors that they needed to try to let Andie be her own person, never tried to make her go back on them, they let her do it on her own. The night she killed herself is an ~especially~ painful memory for Allie because she was home when it happened. Andie had locked herself in her bedroom for two days straight, leaving Allie to babysit a six year old Dinah while their parents attended a conference in the city. That night, Allie slept with her sister's boyfriend (Daniel) and the next morning, she found her sister's body. A part of Allie broke that night, and unlike most people, she doesn't want to try putting herself back together again. She relishes the pain, because she feels like she deserves it. With the possible exception of her fiance, she keeps everybody at a distance. Sarcastic and angry, she lashes out with little provocation, and her two favorite targets are Dinah, who can never seem to do right by her older sister, and their overbearing mother.

Jeremy - He has every right to be just as bitter as his fiancee, but instead, he savors life. He never knew his father, and his mother walked out on him as a child, leaving him to be raised by his aunt and uncle. As such, he's fascinated by families and their dynamics. Also sarcastic, he's never cruel about it, and there's an undeniable warmth to him. A struggling artist, he's especially skilled at doing portraits, and despite the fact that he still has yet to meet Dinah, he's determined to paint every member of the Mackenzie family. Seperately, so he can try to find their true selves as he's doing it. For all her faults, he genuinely adores Allie, and is truly excited to marry into this bizarre, dysfunctional little famly.

Mrs. Mackenzie - The undisputed head of the household, Mrs. Mackenzie always has a sunny, if incredibly warped, outlook on life. The kind of woman who will guilt you into eating even when you're not hungry, because she just has your best interests at heart. Or, in Allie's case, the kind of woman who will commandeer every detail of your wedding (even the seemingly insignificant ones) and then complain when you're not grateful for every she's done. Once or twice, Allie has even caught her mother opening ~her~ wedding presents to help save time. "This way, you can get started on the thank yous!"

Mr. Mackenzie - He's the more quiet, thoughtful of the two. Not that it's a difficult thing to be around his wife. A philosophy teacher at the local community college, more often than not he can be found in his office working on grading papers or writing his own to submit to various magazines and journals. While both of his daughter's love him with all their hearts, especially because he's the only parent they've ever really felt like they could talk to, neither one of them really respects him. He's never shown much of a backbone, and can always be counted on to take his wife's side in any situation, no matter how serious or inconsequential.

Daniel - The son of a diplomat father and trophy wife mother, Daniel has known the Mackenzies since he was a child and would often stay with them to avoid being dragged out of the country by his parents. When he was sixteen, he started dating Andie, and fell hard and fast for her. But as a teenager, Allie was fairly manipulative and more than a little boy-crazy, so after watching Daniel with her sister for a year, she finally decided she wanted him for herself. So while Andie locked herself in her bedroom, Allie seduced Daniel. Not that it would have taken much with a seventeen year old boy. Especially when you happen to look exactly like the girl he loves. Afterward, she acted like it had never happened, and they didn't speak for thirteen years. He ended up teaching at Juilliard (Cello, mostly, although he's fairly skilled with a guitar as well), and it was at Freshman orientation that he ran into Dinah. Despite not having seen her since she was six, it didn't take him long to figure out exactly who she was, though it was weeks before Dinah realized. They've been dating for a few months now, and while she's afraid to get too serious, she genuinely cares about him, and believes that he loves her. So despite knowing it could, and will, dredge up painful memories for her entire family, she wants nothing more than for him to be her date for the wedding.

Alright, I generally try not to dictate other people's characters, and this is already just far too more, so I'm going to end the request here. If you want more information though, about absolutely anything, just let me know. I was thinking maybe we could start a week or two before the wedding, with Dinah coming home to help get ready. Leaving time for angst and drama, and just see where things go from there. I'm not against changing things, so if you've got any comments or suggestions, feel free to throw them out there as well.
