Drystan is a member of the revived Gingerbread House Project (GHP), a government planned program that attempts to turn young children into supersoldiers based on characters from fairytales. Basically, this means he was brain ninja'd into thinking he's actually Grumpy from Snow White, so his personality and mannerisms reflect that. My Grumps is a lot more humorous than canon!Grumpy, in a cruel, trickstery and manipulative fashion, but he's alike with canon!Grumpy in the way that underneath it all he's an utter softy (his shell is just extremely sharp fiery).

He is immortal and, along with some flashy knifing and combat skills that were taught to him in the GHP, he has the ability to breathe fire. His ability is only semi-managed. Most of the time, his emotions override his control (because, let's face it, he's a loose cannon), and when they get too strong or his temper flies off the handle, you don't want to be in the room, because it's very likely to go up in flames and you'll be burned to a crisp. His skin is fire resistant but still very, very warm to the touch (above the normal human range, to feverish levels; ice melts at his fingertips).

When the GHP shut down ten years ago, Grumpy cut off all ties with his fellow GHP peeps (including those from his fairy tale) and fucked off to live and fend for himself. Freed them of him, finally. He's the sort of guy who figured his absence wouldn't really be missed (and with the way he treated people on a daily basis, this was at least partly true), so what was the harm? He had a difficult time being completely on his own, and without anyone to "babysit" him or help rein in his powers and emotions, he became slightly crazy with his independence and more unpredictable than ever.

SO, onto the reason for this post. This is the part where Grumpy has an embarrassingly large, longtime crush on his fellow fairy tale mate, Dopey. When they were together at the GHP ten years ago, Grumpy constantly treated him with cruelty, teased him, and pulled lots of nasty pranks. But that was just Grumpy's form of pigtail pulling. Really, he just wanted Dopey's attention, and the only way he figured he could do that was by being an absolute bastard. Now that they're reunited in the GHP once again, things aren't that different. Grumpy's feelings haven't changed. If anything, they've escalated. Only his cruelty and his teasing are more of the flirtatious variety now; seductive in a I'll bring you to the dark side and keep you there with me sort of way. He's predatory and possessive, and he'll do anything to make Dopey his.

And that is the end of my teal deering.
