Abby and Blade didn't make it in time, and King became a vampire and Drake escaped. Daystar was never released and Zoe...
... Zoe stayed by King's side. Despite his thirst, he resisted the urge. Drake kept her safe, protected her from the fledgling vampire. Protecting her until the time was right.
And he waited. And King waited. And Zoe waited. And the waiting seemed to go one forever.
But at 27, it seemed the wait was over.
Zoe has joined the ranks of the undead, become that which her family had worked so hard to destroy.
But her family never came for her. So these people, the vampires and King and Drake, they are her family now.
She is one of them.
I'm also open to other suggestions and ideas that you want to throw at me :)
