What I am thinking is that (your character) would come into the small, second-hand bookstore she works in looking for a book. He asks another person there if they have a book - but he only knows the title in French, and she overhears, and swoops in to help, and they start talking. She has a ~big thing~ for France (lol francophile) and French and stuff, so they could start talking, and I am thinking that perhaps he's attending NYU, or has recently moved to NY for business of some sort?
And well. We could see where things would go from there. But just to start a fun friendship and all~
