Top 10 Bosses in Zelda

Jun 17, 2010 19:22

In 2008, I made a list in my notebook of my All Time Favorite Games and it's been 2 years now and I haven't posted it. I do have the list made up but I keep changing my mind about the order of the list. Countdown? That's like me listing the top ten songs of Muse. There's no such thing! lol The ranking all depends on my mood. So what I decided to do is make blogs about my All Time Favorite Games. Zelda being one of them. I love all of them but I believe that out of all the Zelda games, Ocarina of Time is one of the most beautiful games ever made. That game gave me all the emotion I could ever need. I remember discovering it for the first time and I was like WOW... Never knew a game could be this "deep". I remember crying sometimes and being scared. It was that damn good. The story was just EPIC and I'm sure someday in the future, they will make a movie out of it. (Hopefully some director doesn't sabotage it.)

As a celebration for the upcoming Skyward Sword, this blog is about my favorite bosses in Zelda history. (only the 3D ones though; Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess.) I will start with number 10 and lead up to what I believe is the coolest boss yet.

10. Twilit Arachnid: Armogohma - "Gohma" has come along way since Ocarina of Time. I was going to list the OOT version of this boss but this particular boss has a different ending than a lot of the bosses I've seen. First, Link does this suave move after he defeats it. But wait, it wasn't killed after all and he finds himself chasing after it (with music humor.)

9. Masked Jungle Warrior: Odolwa - The only Majora's Mask boss to make it in the list. I personally didn't like the bosses in Majora's Mask but I must say that the game was quite depressing. Everything about that story of this title was...weird. Anyways, this boss was very annoying and that's why it made it in this list. Very memorable boss. I've never fought a boss so.... mouthy? It's cool  when he summons (sounds like he's saying "Obama") moths to attack you.

8. Helmaroc King - The only boss from Wind Waker. I found the first part of the boss to be dizzying. You had to run upwards while trying to dodge this boss and trying not to get caught by the overflowing water. And then you had to fight the boss outside as well. One thing I didn't agree with Wind Waker (and the reason only one boss made it into the list) is it's lack of  EPICness in the boss music. Very kiddish I must say.

7. Giant Aquatic Amoeba: Morpha - Definitely one of the creepiest in my opinion the first time I encountered with it ( I was young okay? ). Let me tell you that the Water Temple in OOT almost made me quit. I remember putting it down and for months I didn't play it because I couldn't pass this temple. But then one day I did it and this boss was the prize. Very cool boss. No pun intended.

6. Ganondorf and Ganon in Ocarina Of Time: This is the last boss in that title or should I say in every title. But he was the best in OOT. I loved the going back and forth with the "fireballs" and his transformation to Ganon. The most epic battle yet in Zelda history. The escape after Ganondorfs defeat and so on..... oh... it was awesome. Must play OOT.

5. Subterranean Lava Dragon: Volvagia - This battle was great. The soundtrack and the stage was perfect. You gotta remember that before I faced every boss, I had to go through dungeons, etc. so it was a thrill and a prize whenever I got to fight them. You had to acquire this hammer that eventually would be slammed on his head. It's like whacking the weasel game.

4. Twilit Fossil: Stallord - I didn't expect this boss. Very cool innovative battle specially while riding on the side of the wall. This is another one of those bosses that you think you have finally defeated but then you actually have more work to do. *sigh*

3. Bio-Electric Anemone: Barinade - Meet the legendary Barinade! I love this boss. Every time I play OOT, this is the boss I wait for. The design of this boss and how you beat it is spectacular. I actually liked it when Link gets shocked by it. Very cool sound effects from this battle.

2. Twilit Ice Mass: Blizzeta - Spoiler alert if you haven't played. This boss was a big surprise. I never even knew that place I went to for it was a dungeon level. I thought I was just cruising around some place while this "lady" helped me. Next thing I know, she turns all evil. Disturbing I must say.  You have to remember she helped me throughout the game and then... her head turns like some Exorcist girl and goes berzerk on me. Yikes..... Oh and her introduction was epic. The windows breaking and the ice cold air coming in... Wow. Definitely one of the most shocking moments in Zelda history. Worth it enough to be a scene from some epic disturbing movie.

1. Sorceress Sisters: Twinrova - Who would've thought 2 hags would form a semi-attractive witch? The way you had to defeat her was innovative. You're basically using both the sisters to defeat them and once you do, they combine and transforms into some big boobed bitch, I mean witch. I was like DAYM. The hottest boss in Zelda? And whenever you hit her, she sounded like she's moaning. What is up with that? Lol. But yeah.. I liked this boss a lot. I loved how you had to defeat both of her forms.
