This book ROCKS!!!!!! I have been
learning SO MUCH from it! In the
past, I used to play around with
ripping up shirts & tried to redesign
them. My experiments were VERY
SCARY!
Now, after reading this book,
I can see ways that I can go
back and salvage my early
"Frankengirl Experiments!" I'm
not just ripping & cutting...I'm putting
the pieces back together with lacing,
ruching,stitches, ties, pins and other
good, fun stuff!
I was up until 3am, designing shirts!
I kept getting all excited & put them
on to model for Conner. (He's very
impressed!)
My favorite project of last night was
shredding up my "Good Art Doesn't
Match Your Couch"shirt by Fred Babb.
I'm working on all sorts of ideas for it...
can't decide if I want to make it into a
halter or tube minidress or just a funky,
form- fitted shirt yet...or maybe a skirt,
mixed up with pieces of other funky
/colorful tees. Hmmmmmm....
I've fired up my Grandma's sewing machine
and have finally conquered it! (with a lot of
help from Conner...he's still teaching me how
to thread it, because I keep on forgetting!)
I plan on screenprinting & bleaching designs
onto restructured T's too! Oh....and I want to
start playing around with redesigning thrift
store clothing...mostly dresses- making them
more modern and curve hugging! :-)
