What is a transparent transfer?

I love these.

The art books I reccomended recently, show all sorts of ways of doing a transparent image transfer- it can be done w/ gel medium, solvents, heat transfer or my personal favorite: clear shipping tape! All of these methods create a transparent image...and it is freaking amazing! I almost cried, when I made my first image transfer! LOL... It felt like an Art Miracle to me! :-)
