ART THERAPY

Dec 23, 2005 10:51

I painted last night. This is the first time I've worked on something BIG since the fall. It felt weird, pushing the paint around. I had no idea where I was going with it or even what colors I wanted to use. I put on some  music to help me move through it and not get blocked. I was playing something nice and sweet, like Lorenna Mckennitt and then when that CD finished, one of Conner's started playing- Pink Floyd's The Wall. It seemed to match my mood much better and I actually got more into my painting and started following it down a dark and moody path, letting my emotions flow freely onto the canvas. Felt really GOOD. I painted a really powerful layer last night and am looking forward to adding to it today. Art is my greatest therapist and I rely heavily on it, to get me through dark times.

PS: Mom- I got your box! The presents look lovely and I am enjoying them under my tree! :-)
