Inspiration Behind New Body Of Artwork

Aug 09, 2005 12:28

I've been busy Re-inventing myself....I find that I often go through this process. Much like a Phoenix Bird- I burn myself out and then rise from the ashes and am transformed into something else. Last night, I was sitting on the porch, thinking deeply and told Conner that I feel like I've done A LOT of growing and I'm UNcomfortable with that artistic growth. Much like a teenager who has just had a major growth spurt, I feel all AWKWARD and STRANGE...insecure too...but also excited and full of an INTENSE fire and hunger for MORE.

Here's what has inspired the latest artwork that you'll be seeing in the near future-

Smoke, Fire, Ashes, Burnt Things, Decay, Darkness, Caves, Deep Earth, Geodes, Agate, Dreams, Nightmares, Alien Landscapes, Santa Fe, Sedona, Redwood, Woodgrain, Metal Patinas, Minerals .....in other words- a return to EARTHTONES!!!!!!!! :-)
