Cornerstone was, as usual, absolutely amazing. As usual I had a great time, as usual I hung out with both old friends and strangers, as usual I made my time meaningful and my ticket cheaper by volunteering (a 4-hour shift makes your ticket half-price, it's free for 8-hour), and as usual I learned something about God... for instance, I learned to appreciate the simple beautiful things in life... like Mat Kearney. The man is amazing, he has mad skills, he's super nice (I got to interview him for our documentary!), and as a bonus he has the most perfect eyes God ever created. (Note: The CD cover above does not do him justice, for he is far more attractive in person.)

I would also like to note that Jon Foreman of Switchfoot is the nicest guy EVER. He spoke at the Wycliffe tent about the outcasts in India and my friends and I talked to him beforehand. As we went to sit down we said, "It’s an honor to have met you," and he was like, "No, it’s an honor to have met YOU." So nice. What a swell guy. Oh, and when I got their autographs after the show one of the guys in the band (I'm not sure which one, there were so many people crowded around I was a bit confuddled) complimented my outfit, which led to another happy giddy moment for me.

Other exciting appearances included Thousand Foot Krutch, Third Day, Skillet, Grits, Toby Mac, Anberlin, Relient K, Jars of Clay, and Audio Adrenaline (and that's just MAIN STAGE and of those just the ones I was personally excited about... though sadly I did have to miss Anberlin for another show). In other fun news, there were some awesome Narnia promotions, and I was one of 500 people who got a free t-shirt just for filling out a survey. It's SO COOL people... it says "Aslan is on the move" and inspired much giddy excitement within me.

Now, children, it is time for the ultimate barrage of funny Cornerstone quotes, which I have to share whether you bother reading them or not because people are ten times more hilarious at C'Stone for some reason. Teeheehee. So here goes:

Me: "Tryphena, your head looks like a Kool-Aid factory exploded."

Tryphena: "We should start a band called 'Avril Lavigne is Retarted."

Mo: "You're just a sadist who wants to watch them beat up... what was his name again?"
Tryphena: "Uh... Jesus?"
She was going for Jim Caviezel.

Brittany: "It makes my ear drums wiggle."

Brittany: '''3:30'''

Mrs.Wist: "We ate all the spoons."

Matt Thiessen (Relient K): "...deliciously long mullets."

Brittany: "Uh, guys... that was Matt Thiessen... guys, that was definately Mat Thiessen... that was totally Matt Thiessen!"
Tryphena: "That was Matt Thiessen!"
Britt: "I just said that!"

Tryphena to Jon Foreman (Switchfoot): "Would it be wierd if I asked you to sign my Relient K t-shirt?"
Jon: "No, I'm sure Matt's signed plenty of ours."

Now, my friend Tryphena has about a million Relient K shirts and I’m getting the impression that she intends to narrow down her wardrobe to entirely Relient K apparel. The shirt in question is the one with the turtle, for those of you familiar with RK shirts. Jon gave the turtle a cute little thought bubble and wrote his name in it. So cute.

Ben Clark, very matter-of-factly: "You are a trash can."

Terry Clark (Ben's dad): "What is Molly?"

Jason (Hawk Nelson): "I would like to say happy birthday to Tryphena. She's turning 18 today."
--the day before, when Carrie asked him to say happy birthday to her friend--
Jason: "What's her name?"
Carrie: "Tryphena."
Jason: "Wow."

Jon Foreman to Carrie: "Hey, I remember you!"

Me: "So the girls promised to bring me lunch at work but they forgot and I about died... but then it was okay because Brittany came along and bought us a lamb sandwich which we split."
Papa: "You should have said you actually did die, it would have made a better story."
Me: "Oh, I did die... but I was ressurrected by the lamb."

Tryphena: "I think Molly looks retarted with her lip underneath her other lip."

Tryphena: "Why? Actually I meant more of how."

Brit: "...And this is Carrie."
Carrie: "I'm not mute!"
Random Merch Tent Guy: "What did the mute say?"

Mat Kearney, to the crowd, after breaking two strings in one song: "You can have them but you have to wait." --with a confidential tone-- "This is a show here."

Mat Kearney: "Do you think Jeremy would mind if I played his piano? He threatened me before... I'll just buy his t-shirt and he'll forgive me."

Did I meantion he did an acoustic set, just him and his guitar and Jeremy Camp's keyboard, and he talked to his miniscule mosh pit (no actual moshing went on at his concert, but there was a pit anyway) as if we were just hanging out together, and he was so very real and personal and super super cool... and, as a bonus, has the most perfect eyes God ever created? Did I meantion that? 'Cause that's what happened, and it was amazing.
And now, back to your regularly scheduled Quotebooking.

Mrs. Wist: "I'm the kind of wife who won't ride with a gatorade man."

About once an hour on the way home-
Me: “Why did you poke me?”
Carrie: “I was bored.”

Carrie: "That was super exciting."
Joanna: "What?"
Carrie: "Cornerstone!"
Joanna: "Oh, yeah."

And on the way home we had to duck into a gas station due to a tornado and all of us girls spent half an hour squashed together in a bathroom making witty banter and singing praise songs, during which time the following dialogue took place.

Me: "Why does it say not to turn off the light?"
Mo: "Maybe something terrible will happen."
Holly: "That is the apocalypse right there."

Well kids, I think that's all. If I think of something else I shall, of course, inform you thereof. Hopefully I'll get my pictures developed and scanned in some time this YEAR, in which case I will probably post some of them. Thanks for bothering to read this thing or skipping to the end to read the conclusion at least, whichever you did. Have a merry little day.
