[SUDDENLY. There's girl. Boy? Girl? It's not overly important. There's an Ed. Ed is sitting at a computer, colors flashing over the screen as she waves her hands in the air. She's wearing a pair of goggles that are plugged into the computer, and they shine brightly, colors flashing in synch with the computer's screen

[Usopp sees the Ed, and is half terrified, half fascinated and half horrified, which is three halves, but he figures that he can get away with it. He knows there's a lot of computer stuff out there, so it makes sense that there can be things with... trippy lights and all that, but it's still somewhat terrifying.

It looks like he-she-he-it is possessed. But he doesn't leave, because curiosity kills the cat, and if it doesn't kill the cat, it'll certainly kill Usopp one day, who doesn't have nine lives. It takes him a moment to weave another story - he is a technological expert, and was called by the government by a plea to help them but he didn't because he's too loyal to his own crew of lawbreakers - but this story quickly fades once he gets closer.

Seeing all the lights and colours make him dizzy, but more than that, they're...] Cool!

[Er. Well. Can't kill him to be honest this once, he supposes, since he really has no idea what that is. Speaking of which...]

What is that?

[He stays a good distance away, however, just in case it... explodes, or something. Maybe it's a bomb. Maybe it's a world-ending virus. Who knows?]

Edward knows!

[A smile breaks over her face, one just a bit devious. The goggles stay in place, and little faces move about on the screen, opening windows and navigating through the web.]

That~

[She begins, wiggling her arms in a grandiose gesture toward the little patchwork system]

~is a Tomato!

[Usopp doesn't look at the system while the self professed, er... Edward grins like a madman and he can see faces moving around and the rapidness of it all makes him feel a little sick. He's never really understood computers. He knows point and click. He knows how to type things up, and how to send emails, and all that other stuff, but he likes working with his hands more.

He gapes at her, goggles and all, before finally snapping his eyes away and looking at the screen.]

That...

[He squints.]

Doesn't look much like a tomato. Tomatoes are small and red and round. Like this. [He demonstrates with his fingers the general size of tomatoes.

Then he decides it's safer not to offend, because it's a bad idea to trust anybody who wiggles like that.] But. Uh. It's a very nice computer. Edward. That's your name, right?

Yep! Edward~~ [She draws out the word, waving her hands a bit] ~is Ed.

And this- [She points at the computer] -is a Tomato!

["Tomato" blinks a few more times before the screen flashes red and goes completely black. Smoke puffs from her goggles and a "zap" is heard. She pulls the now-dark goggles off.]

Oh, no, no, no! Edward lost it!

[Usopp nods, slowly. Sure, he tells people he is the Great Usopp of Great Deeds and Fearsome Power, but at least he doesn't speak in third person. Usually.

Then, glancing at the computer, he sees the screen flash the word. Which is strange. He doesn't know why anybody would want that word flashing on their computer, but, well, he's not going to complain."

Um. Yeah. I see. Tomato. You... like tomatoes, Edward?

[A boy, then, definitely. He's never heard of a girl named Edward. Then again, he's never heard of anybody else named Usopp, but he tends to ignore that particular fact.

Then, the light flashes out. Uh oh.]

I'm sure you can fix it, [Usopp says, holding both hands in front of him, palms out, as if Edward will come and attack him at any moment.]
