Mr. Monk and the Bananas

It had all started out relatively harmless. Adrian Monk wanted a banana.
It was a mistake however for him to actually try to pick out and purchase one for himself.
At first he simply stood in front of the display, staring in horror at the various bunches, some with three or four fruits connected, and others many more. Then there was the color differences. Some bright yellow without a blemish while others were in various stages of ripeness with dark spots on them.
A five minute shopping trip had suddenly turned into a two hour labor of determination to get all the banana bunches in order, by number, size and color even shape.
When Natalie finally showed up, he was sitting in the floor, surrounded by banana bunches as though he were protecting them from the errant shoppers that insisted on picking, in his opinion, the wrong ones.
Adrian Monk's photo is now hanging proudly at the front of the store for some reason.
