[locked to Eddie] Always the wrong time

Sally had wandered for what seemed like days. Exploring rooms upon rooms filled with things she'd never even imagined, let alone seen before. Of course there had been people. People strange and wonderful, but all strangers. Friendly enough, but civility did little to calm the fear in her heart. No one here knew her. They couldn't explain what had happened or why she'd ended up in this terrible labyrinth. At first she'd thought it was a dream. Something from a fevered nightmare. Or perhaps the Germans had actually dropped the bomb and this...this was death.

She had never felt so alone in all her life.

Finally, when her mind and body couldn't go on a moment longer, she'd found an empty bedroom and slept. A deep and dreamless sleep for a time she had no way of measuring. But when she woke, she felt...lighter. Or perhaps simply more resigned.

So, she'd left the bedroom and headed out again. No longer simply searching for an escape, she began to make peace with her surroundings. And with her fellow prisoners. Or residents, she sometimes thought, depending on her mood.

It was on one of the good days that she found herself in yet another of the endless rooms. This one decorated and stocked like a place she would have recognized from her own time. Expensive liquor, lavish decor, she'd been awed the first time she'd stumbled upon it. Since then it had become something of a second home to her. A place where she could escape the unknown and forget. At least for a little while.
