Do we control our own lives? Hell no, we don't. Check me out, I'm just a girl in the world trying to make it in South Boston with a deadbeat dad in jail and a mom who's out working the corner, getting bounced around from foster home to foster home. If that ain't proof enough that I had no control over my life stack on some sudden superpowers. Well, we can backtrack a little bit I guess. First off, I started to go kinda crazy. My social worker thought I had some kind of dis associative personality disorder or whatever. Turns out I was getting possessed by this ancient vampire slayer who wanted to get paybacky on Kakistos in a serious way. She kept taking my body over and making me do crazy shit. I used to call them my rage blackouts, but they went away after I got rid of Artemia.
Are you confused yet? Cause you're about to be more confused, just hang on tight and I'll make it as painless as possible. Cool?
So this chick, her name was Diana Dormer. She shows up to bail me out of this mental institution type deal only to tell me that I've been recruited to fight the forces of darkness. Flash forward a couple of months and the real slayer dies so that means it gets passed down to me and I suddenly have superpowers. And why? Cause a bunch of guys who call themselves the powers that be decided I should have them.
If life didn't suck before I became a slayer it definitely sucked afterwards. Artemia had it in her head that I had to go up against Kakistos which was cool other than he plowed through Diana to get at me. First person that ever really cared about dead as a doornail just cause I had some kinda destiny to fulfill.
I never made any decisions for myself, at least in the beginning. As things started to unravel I started making all the wrong decisions, but that's what you do when you feel like your life is totally out of control. I don't control my own life. I'm fate's bitch, I've pretty much accepted that by this point.
