This boy does not let up about Elmo... it's crazy because he's never even seen Sesame Street. Our neighbor has a Hokey Pokey Elmo, but that's it... it was love at first sight (ok, fear and attraction at first sight). He took a little plastic Elmo figurine from the gym daycare, and we walks around with that clutched in his hand most of the time. Oh, and I have to nurse Elmo when he's nursing, too, of course. And his babble conversations usually go, "La blah blah ***MELMO!!! MELMO!!!*** la la dah bah." I'm convinced some government psychologists who are working on mind control of toddlers created Elmo... or maybe there's some visual narcotic effect in the particular shade of Elmo red or something. But we have a small pack of disposable diapers for emergencies, and if Sasha catches sight of them, he will literally cry for them (sometimes he's content with just carrying one around, and then I return it to the pack when he falls asleep... but often he will sign to be changed and go to the couch where we change him and assume the position with the disposable Elmo-emblazoned diaper in his grasp). So, I'm desperately seeking people willing to break the copyright protections on Elmo and embroider him on a few diapers, so that disposables lose their unique "Elmo" appeal. Argh.
