I did it. ^^ Yesterday, for the first time in my life, I sang in front of an audience, alone. ^^
Well, not entirely alone, it was together with a friend. ^^ But, you know, it was, like, not with a choir and all. 8D
I was at the Animecon 2007 yesterday, and it was a lot of fun. And in the evening, there was karaoke. I've been to karaoke at these events before, but I've never dared to actually sing. But yesterday I did! :D
My friend and I, who'd spent the whole day hanging out together (with our dolls, too ^^), decided we'd do the song together at karaoke in the evening. Oh, the song was Todokanai Ai, by the way. XD She'd done it by herself already the night before, so she was alright with it.
I briefly thought myself insane for suggesting/agreeing with the plan (I can't remember which XD;;), but in the end, when the time came, I wasn't nearly as nervous as I'd thought I'd be. Not even as nervous as I had been the previous year at the mere thought of having to sing. Of course, it helped that I wouldn't be completely alone.
I was still nervous though, and shaking in my boots the whole time. But apparently, it didn't show. ^^ During the first part of the song I kept my eyes on the tv that showed the lyrics, partly because I wasn't completely sure of them, and partly because I was too nervous to look at anything else and be distracted. Eventually though, I dared to loop up into the crowd a little, and I saw people smiling and waving their arms to the music. That was cool. ^^ And when it was over, we got a very nice applause, and I got very excited and wanted to do it again. XD
So we did. XD We picked another song to play, this time it was Ready Steady Go! by L'Arc, which is a well-known and popular song among animefans, because it's the opening theme of an anime (can't remember which one though at the moment). Plus it's upbeat and fun. ^^
But the karaoke is popular, and it took an hour before the song would come around. So I decided to abandon my original plan of leaving at 10pm, and catch a later train instead.
Now, this time, a large group has just been singing before it was our turn, and they decided to stay up there because they loved the song too. So we had a bit of a background chorus. XD It was loads of fun, and twice in the song I lead everyone into clapping to the beat. 8D I had a good time. I was still a bit nervous, but even less so than the first time.
After the song was over, we left to get our gear and catch our trains. We were exactly on time. ^^
And, lastly, a cookie for anyone who gets the reference in my topic title. :D
