why am I awake?

I make that sound as if I have some deep, torturous reason for still being awake at 7 in the morning. I don't... I just don't want the weekend to be over; I've been enjoying a few days without stress. I went to Byrne's with Nicki and went back to her place to watch some crap tv and make fun of Elimidate and Full House. I can't believe I used to love Full House when I was little. It's totally ridiculous, and though all the cast members are annoying, Bob Saget bugs me the most (well pretty much everything he does on that show competes for most annoying), Jesse when he says "have mercy," and Joey when he does his voice impersonations. I know he thinks they're cute, and I guess maybe they were when I was 7 or 8, however, now they are merely crack-worthy. I managed to resist the drink temptation, so I'm managing to stay faithful to Atkins for this induction. But what sucks about that is that this is the FIRST time Nicki has made a healthy snack while I've been hanging out with her. She made her awesome homemade salsa-- which really is awesome... I think it's some of the best I've ever had-- and I had to just sit and watch her have the whole thing. Which I said was okay, b/c not everyone should be denied because moi is doing Atkins for a month. But I still missed the damn salsa, which sucks. Oh well... Did laundry and had dinner with mom and dad tonight (last night?). Went and saw Garden State with Brent yesterday, using the gift certificate my wonderful friend Brent (yes, two men in my life are named Brent... I strive to be confusing) gave me for my birthday. Good movie... totally unexpected from the guy on the Scrubs show which I avoid. What's funny about a hospital anyway?? The characters were well-drawn, not too cheesy or pathetic, and believable. It also had a good soundtrack (Coldplay, Zero 7, Frou Frou, Paul Simon, Nick Drake, Remy Zero, etc) which is a plus in a world of cookie-cutter soundtracks. That's a lot of praise for a movie in my estimation. The best I've seen since the Kill Bill 2/Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind time awhile back. I guess I saw Hero this summer, which was very cool too. In any case, if you haven't seen it and like a movie with an uplifting feeling, go see. I had the happy/sweet tears at the end. Sigh... another week of school. Will be less stressful than the last... I hope. Maybe Brent will comfort me with a foot rub if I ask him again (I've been foot rub crazy lately). Nothing more interesting going on folks. Will report back in when something momentous occurs.

P.S. The Ashlee Simpson lip-synching debacle on SNL (which Brent demanded I download and watch) was pretty hilarious. As both Brent and Nicki said, it was definitely a painful Milli Vanilli moment. I feel kinda bad for her, but the song isn't in a crazy-hard range, and she wasn't doing Britney Spears moves... why couldn't she just sing? This lip-synching trend bothers me. I guess Jessica got the voice in the family. :/
