Hello lovely people.
This is a quick update, as life is busy this weekend. Mom-in-law is here, and has made pumpkin and apple pies. Hubby has a nasty cold, so it's my turn to take care of him. I've decided to make roast pork loin with roasted vegetables, potatoes, and snap beans for tomorrow. Heading to my mother's house tonight for a lovely Austrian Unitarian Xmas Eve.
Many deeper and far more amusing thoughts keeping popping up, but family and food calls, so real LJ posting will have to wait until Sunday evening or Monday morning.
For now, in the spirit of the season, I wish love, happiness, and good eating to all. Hope everyone is safe and happy, and has a wonderful weekend.
And a little classic from Dave Barry:*
In the old days, it was not called the Holiday Season; the Christians called it 'Christmas' and went to church; the Jews called it 'Hanukka' and went to synagogue; the atheists went to parties and drank. People passing each other on the street would say 'Merry Christmas!' or 'Happy Hanukka!' or (to the atheists) 'Look out for the wall!
And to all a good night.
*Although personally I subscribe to the "Happy Holidays" sentiment, rather than specifying just one of the handful of almost random holidays celebrated mainly to pull focus from yet another Pagan tradition. Yada yada yada. Didn't I say I wasn't going to do a real LJ post? Oh well! :-)
