From where I'm sitting, Obama has had an excellent couple of weeks.
The Obama world-wide tour was a huge success.
McCain's is being starved of media time and he doesn't have enough money to buy his own.
It looks like McCain being right about the surge is not getting him a lot of political traction and is instead validating Obama's position on Iraq.
There is still turmoil in McCain's campaign and Bush is not helping McCain out with its recent foreign policy moves. Chatting up the Iranians and negotiating a withdrawal with the Iraqis are not what McCain has been advocating.
The only area that doesn't seem to be breaking Obama's way is offshore drilling. I can't see McCain riding that issue into the White House and it may even hurt him electorally.
Yeah, there has been a lot of hand wringing about why Obama is not polling better but why everyone should assume that (a) polls mean a lot right now (they don't) and (b) polls did a super duper job of predicting the Democratic nomination race (they didn't) I don't really understand.
