Focus on your own damn family

Swiped from Crooks and Liars, a quote from James Dobson:
“I am convinced Sen. McCain is not a conservative, and in fact, has gone out of his way to stick his thumb in the eyes of those who are. He has at times sounded more like a member of the other party….

“I cannot, and I will not, vote for Sen. John McCain, as a matter of conscience…. Should John ( Read more... )

I don't know what your views on choice are.. but I researched last night to see what the candidates voted for..

According to this quote, that's not the case:

"I don’t think people take the issue lightly. A lot of people have arrived in the view that I’ve arrived at, which is that there is a moral implication to these issues, but that the women involved are in the best position to make that determination. And I don’t think they make it lightly."

He's not perfect, but that's a good answer.

And I'm about as pro-choice as they come :-) I'm a bleeding-heart liberal, remember?

Regarding the "anti-family" thing:

1) Dobson's definition of "anti-family" is very different from that of a normal-thinking person. His idea of "pro-family" is one man married to one woman of the same race having lots of babies while the father brings home the bacon and the mother stays home wearing pearls (but not shoes) and cooking dinner. Oh, and they all go to an evangelical church on Sundays. Anything else is "anti-family" and Heinously Evil!

2) Dobson will never get over himself.

Yeah, I know, I know... but I can't get over the urge to slap him upside the head a few times. With a frying pan. Whilst wearing pearls.

I want to know if Ann Coulter is going to go through with her vow to "campaign for the Democrats if McCain is the nominee."

I'm also curious if Ann Coulter campaigning for you would help or hurt your chances.

Ooh I really really hope she goes through with it....

And that's a good question - seems like even the right-wingers are starting to distance themselves from that whackjob
