Where were you?

Had a lovely time in San Francisco - had the second best meal of my entire lifetime (thanks to the generosity of my friend John), and got addicted to a game called PuzzleQuest on his xbox360. Thank goodness it has terrible reviews for the Wii version - if I had that in my house I would do NOTHING ELSE.

Meanwhile, husband acquired Guitar Hero. I suppose I shall have to learn to play.

Thanks to a post on Fark.com I was reminded that today is the 22nd anniversary of the crash of the space shuttle Challenger. Do you remember where you were when you heard the news, and did it affect you?

I was in Mr. Lord's 7th grade math class, and someone came running in from one of the science rooms, where they were watching it live on television. I don't think the reality of it hit me until I got home from school and watched the footage over and over and over again on the news. I actually had a mental flashback to that on 9/11 when the footage of the towers collapsing were shown over and over and over again. Effective way to sear an image into your brain forever.

So, anyone else, on Challenger? Do you remember? Did you care?
