Friday night, I attended the Mesa Slam-off after attending a lovely hippie wedding. It was one of the best nights of poetry in recent memory. Last year, some people didn’t seem like they should be onstage. Friday, everyone belonged there. Hell, everyone busted out and tore up the joint. I think I fell in love at least six times. I left

Lady, I read you because I love reading what you have to say; you're vibrant, vital, and honest about your world. I've read you for years and always appreciated your insights, whether you feel those insights are angry or not. I am not friends with people because I want them to be like me; that'd be egotistical, the equivalent of relationship masturbation. I enjoy reading about your progress, your triumphs, your pain, all of it. You wouldn't be a complete, entire being without all those things that you are. I consider you to be intriguing and interesting. I don't consider myself to be particularly exciting. I'm just eager for experiences. I don't consider myself sexy. I'm just open to the world. I see these traits in you, which means that if you think those things are exciting and sexy, you must then, also possess those qualities.

The people I know in the flesh are many things; I'm grateful for every bit of what everyone can be and learn from it all. Diversity has always been the key in my friendships. I consider you a very diverse lady. This is one of the biggest reasons for why I read you. I could go on if you want me to, but this is a start.
