That's what pisses me off. They raised the co-use (from 55 dollars every two weeks to 80), which effectively gobbled up the minimum wage raise. I was making below what the current minimum is (6.15), and have a considerable degree of skill and labour that I bring to my job. I am not saying that arrogantly; I've accrued skills and labour in doing my job for two years now. Instead of bumping me up, I am still at the current minimum, which means someone who walks in off the street with less skills will make as much as I will. That's bullshit.

I think that when a business starts mistreating its workers, it won't last long. Before, I'd have stayed out of loyalty to the company, but now, I feel like I could leave and not give a second thought to it. There's a lot of dissatisfication going on here right now. My friend Wes, who was the old workshop coordinator, tried to come back and volunteer, and was effectively blackballed. He was told he was orange-listed. What? He got fired from his job over personal differences, not because he was a danger to Arco. He was one of the happiest, most enthusiastic people here. Many people stayed because of him. He was so much fun. To push someone like that out makes no sense. He did a lot of education with area schools, something that hasn't been continued in his absence.

It just bums me out on so many levels.
