It's been a productive day...

Let's see it's a little after 3:30 and so far today I've spent time with John, got my hair cut, took returns to the post office, took all those bags of books to Edward Mackay and got $63 in store credit, went to Home Depot and signed up for a store card and bought a fridge to be delivered when I close, went to Lowe's and got more paint chips.

Whew! Lots of things done. Ok, I haven't packed any boxes yet today but I will a little later on. And with those bags of books gone, I have more space to put boxes.

Had a really nice Friday night. Work was totally boring. Had a good workout and managed to drive home without getting caught in any traffic jams for the 2nd time this week. Returned John's call and we wound up going out for Indian at Royal India. It was a nice time. However, the meal wasn't as spicy as it normally is. Usually when you go to Royal India and you order Medium it blows your head off, so if you order Mild it's slightly spicy. Well, this time with the Mild it really was too mild. Oh well. But the company was good and the dinner was good. Back to my house and more hanging out and much to my surprise, his allergies to Mr. Felix weren't bothering him, so he spent the night. That hasn't happened in a very long time. It was very nice having someone there. All too soon it was time to get up for my early morning hair appt. Sigh.

One good thing out of the evening is that John agreed to clean out the cabinet under the kitchen sink, if I gave him gloves. I am soooo relieved about that. I admit that I am scared of that cabinet. I will find some way to make it up to him later.

I also learned that if I want to turn in used books that are hardbacks, I really need to do it the year they come out. I wound up not getting as much for my books as I had thought I would because of that. But something is better than nothing. Now to sell stuff on Craigslist...

Nothing much planned for this evening other than pack more books and clean out a few cabinets. I really want the books packed by the end of the weekend. I think I am really making good progress on the whole thing. Definitely much better progress than the last time I moved where someone stole the boxes that I had stashed. I still need more boxes though since it turns out that most of the boxes that I saved are all pretty small boxes. So I'll most likely wind up moving a lot of the books first and dumping them out and reusing the boxes.

I also am thinking about being Anne the Experimental Chef and making a big pot of soup. I'm not really sure what will be in it yet. But the weather is perfect for soup. I'll be sure to tell you all about it when I'm done.

john, fun with friends, fun with food
