Wheee!!! Guess all the good vibes and prayers of the nuns worked! Just got a job offer, which I accepted, from BCBS. It'll be in the Projects/new training area. And they offered me way more money than I ever expected. Guess I will be making progress on getting out of debt now ( Read more... )

CONGRATS!!!! AWESOME!

Drug test, eh? Don't go to any parties in the meantime... no telling what you could inhale *grins.*

Boss on vacation=great way to tell HR, get some things wrapped up, and have it neat and tidy and "f-you" in ultimate results when she gets back? Just a notion...

So now... you get to look at apartments near the NEW job. With the NEW salary :D

Well, I don't hang with the crowd that does that sort of thing anymore, so I should be ok *grin*

As tempting as it is to tell the boss "f-you", probably not the best move career-wise. I really don't want to burn any bridges you never know how things will turn out.

Yep, looking for new apartments, though I don't think I want to move to Durham, but maybe closer to I-40 and the new salary will help out a wee bit.

Oh, I didn't mean to SAY that, I just meant that it would ultimately imply that by you having a cheerful little see you, it was so great working for you (with your brain sizzling a bit "not!" as you politely dismiss yourself :)

oh yeah, meant to ask... are you still going to prep for the FCB interview in case something goes unexpectedly with BCBS?

You know, haven't really thought about that. Heck, I haven't even called FCB yet. To be honest, I'd rather not prep for it...I don't think anything will happen with BCBS. But you never know...

What a puzzle.

WOO HOO!!!! You go, girl!! I knew you'd do it. That is totally cool. I understand being nervous about telling your boss that you're leaving. But look at it this way. The worst she can do is to walk you out immediately. However if you turn in a 2 week notice, even if they walk you, they are required by law to pay you for those 2 weeks. Course she could just be ugly to you for your last 2 weeks, but knowing that your outa there makes crap like that easier to deal with.
Anyway, many congrats and I'm really happy for you

Thanks so much.

Well, the fact that she's in another city makes it really easy to ignore her once I give my two weeks. Also the fact that I am going to do some cleanup work for them before I go, should help too.

But I am glad that I am moving on.
