Whether you're arriving in Wellington, Melbourne, London or Shanghai, there's always a period of adjustment required before you're really prepared to throw yourself into the city.

The adjustment time between Auckland and Wellington is understandably short and, conversely, the time I'd take to get used to Shanghai, rather long.

Today, I woke up in Sydney ready for the city but the preparation time took longer than expected. The day started when I saw Tony Robbins (a beast of a man, gigantic by any standard stick, with "American salesman" dripping off him) at the airport and continued over a mammoth 17-hour work day. "Work" being loosely defined in this instance as the full-day junket we had at Watson's Bay.

Let's see where this day takes me.
