I am a 63 year old lady not some 15 year old girl, yes mam and nither am I....

The subject line really says what I am thinking to some degree and by that I mean I have a few more walgreens gems/humor.

well not full fledged gems/humor just a whole lot of stupid recently... last week I was betting that all the busyness could have been blamed on the full moon and lunar eclipse, it seems that when ever one happens (that would be both a full moon and/or a lunar eclipse) all kinds of odd people come out of the wood work and say things to me that make my head hurt and spin.

The subject line was part of a conversation I had with a woman when she called about her meds.... though I so wanted to tell her that I wasn't a 15 year old girl either... so much like you wouldn't believe. *shakes fists*

Tonight I was filling in at the Deerfield store, which is relatively closer to me than the Fox Lake store is, its a bigger store, 24 hours/365 days a year, and a test market store as about 2 or 3 city blocks away is the corporate office. The Deerfield store is like 3 times busier than Fox Lake will ever really get unless the area develops at like 3 times its current rate, and even then Fox Lake is more of a retirement community than any other near by city.

Now the last couple of times I was working there I was presented with small acts of.... well, lets just call them WTF moments, simple easy fixes solved the problem and even a few people thanking me for doing an above average job when I am not really changing how I act at work.

Tonight on the other hand was a mess, we had lost power yesterday afternoon for some reason which put us behind to some degree, hence I had at least a few people upset at us for not being able to go faster.... which to me is an argument in futility, we can only go so fast as there are only so many of us, at the same time if there is too many of us we step on each others toes and bigger problems can happen, and some days are just inherently busier than others. Today for example is the first day of the month as a week day (the first week day of every month, usually the first monday of the month) is busier than others for many different reasons, one of which is that social security checks come in on the first of the month (well when mail can travel) and a large number of our customers have there medications set to the first of the month sinked with this so that they can afford their medications, from there today was also the day after a Major holiday, which weekends that have a Major holiday attached to them force doctors to take extra time off, why by noon on Friday most doctors had gone home for the day/weekend. Leaving today of all days to be the next day back in office, which forces them to catch back up with their appointments and pharmacies to catch back up with the doctors...

HENCE INSANITY INSUED!!!!!!!!!!

There was probably like 20 minutes combined over the course of my 8 hour shift where we weren't busy to insane proportions. It was non-stop business the whole night, although our numbers probably looked pretty damn awesome and we sure did a whole lot of profitable business... but seriously where did all of those people come from... they just didn't stop coming in....

I was probably the only one at the end of the night who was laughing, mostly because I just wanted to collapse from sheer exhaustion.

I would just like to say for the record "I would like to work in a place that is void of stupid, from pretty much everybody..." this place only exists in my mind though, but if anyone and I mean ANYONE finds such a place that is void of stupid and needs a good pharmacy technician to work their I will go there in a heart beat. Until then I will just have to make do.

walgreens humor, update
