I think you can tell a lot about a man by how many ties he has. When a man's tie-count exceeds his age, you should wonder whether his priorities aren't a little off.
Appearances matter, I know, but for some people, appearances are all they have to offer. Those who are honest and open with the world don't need many ties. Ties, however expensive they may be, are no substitute for integrity, not even if they are silk.
