Actually, what this indicates is that you and akbar just have to keep humming it indefinitely for the rest of us.

I was wondering that too. There is both an OVA and a series that are separate. It's something i've seen around but never gotten around to pick up. Based off of the wiki entry on it (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El-Hazard) it sounds like something I would enjoy but at the current state of my anime tastes I might find it annoying.

Ive got this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gankutsuo) lined up and was planning on starting it soon (im in the middle of watching ALL of Babylon 5)

Yeah, I think Netflix recommended it to me at one point, but I haven't picked it up either. I sort of feel the same as you: I might dig it, but probably not right now. I just caught up with Bleach and Naruto and am pretty done with shonen-type animes for a while I think. Carol and I did a Bab5 catchup a few years ago, which was the first I had ever really watched it. I enjoyed it through season 4 and then rapidly lost all interest.

Still humming... :-)

we are watching it all in prep for the B5 movie that comes out in 3 weeks.

As for losing all intrest, you need to remember that Season 5 almost didnt happen. Season 4 was re-written at the end to finish the big story. The telepath story does drag on a bit but once the Centauri story in season 5 picks up it is great til the end. (just watched the finale the other night and again cried my eyes out)
