So it's been 4 weeks since my last post. Thought I'd take some time during my first DAY OFF to update this thing.
My mother sent me a birthday present early. I had read off some of the items on my christmas list to her when I was in the process of making it and she picked up on one of the items I had wanted and ordered it. It came in the mail to my doorstep--which I was slightly nervous about due to Derek having a break-in last year. Anyways---I found it between the storm door and the regular front door and immediately knew what it was since it was a box from L.L. Bean. I tore into the box and holy cow a HUGE bag popped out. Here it is. :)
Cute, eh?
THen came halloween time. I have always hated Halloween since I've always got asthma, allergies, sickness issues during this time of year. We I have come to realize that in North Carolina--my allergies are always present and I am always stuffed up and nasty. Anyways--Meagan and Kelly had planned a huge costume party. I hate Halloween for yet another reason---I am not creative and never know what to dress up as. So after searching at the damn Halloween store in Fayetteville for an hour--I left with a grass skirt--knowing I could put on a lei and be a hawaiian. So that's what I did. and here are two pics from the party.
The day following the party was my birthday. I basically did lesson plans all day and then was treated by Meagan to Chinese and was introduced to High School Musical---watching all of one and a quarter of 2. SHe also had made me a chocoolate chocolate cake (and got some help form Derek decorating it) Here is a picture.
On the Monday following my birthday I recieved a bouquet of gerbera daisies from Trent at school. Gerbera daises are my favorite flower...well Lilacs are my number 1 but you cant get lilacs out of season... here is my bouquet
I also got a package in the mail containing Trent's grey MSU hooded sweatshirt. When he had come to visit me during fairtime I had whined about him not bringing down that particular sweatshirt because I had wanted to keep it...and wear it to bed. And now I have it. :)
Anyways moving on... School has been intense. not even half of my students passed their benchmarks---11 out of 24 to be exact. Which meant I had to prepare a TON of personal education plans (PEPs) and report cards were just a pleasure to create.
This past weekend we went couch shopping with Laura and Brett--here is a pic of the furniture store--not the couch that they actually bought though...just a random picture
And I also finished watching High School Musical 2 in order to go to the theater to see High School Musical 3 with Meagan, Kelly B, and Kelly C. Too many Kelly's! :)
I did my parent teacher conferences yesterday. From 8-6. Yuck. I still have about 5 more to do on a random day. The first one was TERRIBLE...but as the day went on it was fine. We went for Chinese for lunch---rushed and stuffed myself. And after conferences we hit up CiCi's Pizza for Rockfish Hoke's fundraiser.
Right now I am planning on hopping in the shower and meeting up with Brett and Laura for lunch and a tour of Fort Bragg. Kinda excited--is that wierd?
Hope toenjoy my day off. :) Love and miss you all!
