Technical Information
The titanium, in its liquid state, is sprayed on the body of the stainless steel at a very high speed through plasma high-tech equipment, also used for the aerospace industry.
On top of this non-stick coating is applied covering and deeply penetrating into the molecular structure of titanium remaining caged. In this way a combination is formed at the same time highly resistant and slippery, able to withstand even attacks from stainless steel tools normally used for cooking. This means that after many years the product is able to maintain its functional peculiarities.
What’s Titanium ?
Titanium is the metal material with the best performance among those currently used industrially, having simultaneously:
- Low density, therefore light
- High resistance to corrosion, abrasion, impact, cuts, UV radius
- High thermal inertia (thermal conductivity 16W/mK) and good heat resistance;
- Antistatic and non-magnetic;
Has the property to be bio-compatible, as it has surface porosity similar to the human being tissue, resulting physiologically inert. For this reason, the alloy with titanium base is used even in the prosthetic components, and in the dental prosthesis implant, and in products intended for contact with food.
- It’s fully recyclable.
- Harder than aluminium, stainless steel, and to all materials in general except for diamond
- Coefficient of thermal expansion is about 50% compare to stainless steel and Copper. Therefore remains compact, does not expand or break up
- Corrosion resistance almost equal to platinum
From all these properties applications are made in the air force field, aerospace filed, bio-engineering, sports, jewellery, etc..
The titanium owes its corrosion resistance and its biocompatibility to the formation of a thin film of titanium oxide.
It becomes the element of various refractory alloys. These alloys are used for the production of turbine blades, cutting tools and also, due to the high hardness and impact resistance, for manufacturing of cooking utensils, moulds elements, chains and of different tools. The titanium super alloys have an excellent fire behaviour and are hypoallergenic
Attention
The superficial part of the product consists of only high quality non-stick coating .However, the benefits related to the resistance of the coating only become evident with time, when the superficial part of the non-stick coating (the one not caged in titanium) is definitively removed, giving way to the hard combination as highlighted above.
