Nightmare on Elm St. remake

Sep 30, 2009 14:52

To be honest, I was raeging hardcore when I discovered about a year ago they were remaking NOES.
I mean, they were replacing Robert Englund, the LEGEND , with Rorschach (Jackie Earle Haley).
Heh. Doing a raspy voice and wearing a fedora in one movie automatically makes you perfect for the part in another movie?
Also, I knew it was being done by Platinum Dunes, which meant Michael 'mayheburninhell' Bay  was involved. Which did not fucking help at all. Re-casting Nancy, bringing her back, made me mad too. I love Heather Langenkamp, so cute and sweet and brave. I have a feeling new Nancy will be like any new horror girl. A gigantic slut.
THEN came the part when it was announced Freddy was to be a non-humourous character, all business. Come on, that was Fred's whole thing, making teens die, and cracking the audience up.   So that was it. I'm not watching this movie. No way, no how..........
then just today I saw the official teaser.
Let's just say, I think it looks acceptable.
They brought back a bunch of stints from the original, like the bathtub scene, the little girls in white playing jump-rope, the friend rising up above the bed, and of course, the infamous song.
It may still suck though.

When I heard they were remaking Friday the 13th, same reaction. I swore I wouldn't watch it, until the trailer gave me false hopes. I went in expecting something decent, and well....I gave it a 2 stars out of five.
Hopefully, so hopefully. that won't happen again.

OH.
by the way, does it piss anyone else off that when these remakes come out, fuckclusters of assholes go see it, love it, and pretend like they've loved the series all along?
UH -HUH-HUH, NO. GTFO.

freddy's coming for me
