Somewhere outdoors, there is a goddess. She is seated beneath a tree and there is a pair of large, black horses standing guard nearby. Zaknafein came rather quickly, but he paused a fair way away from Nyx, watching her quietly, and, though most probably could not tell, but she no doubt will, awkwardly.

Nyx looked up as soon as she sensed him there, immediately halting her smile (though not due to Zaknafein's presence, simply because anyone at all is there). "Zaknafein," she said. "Come meet your daughters."

Well, one does not argue with the goddess (...most of the time). Zaknafein carefully made his way over, glancing from Nyx to the two little ones with an apprehensive expression.

One of the horses moved to block his path before Nyx stopped it with a clicking noise. She lifted one of the girls off of the ground and offered her to Zaknafein.

Somebody was unaware of any pregnancy. Somebody happens to be passing by. And that same somebody, passing near enough to see the colour of a baby's skin, is going to hesitate with a deep, deep sense of foreboding.

No one ever said he didn't have good instincts. It's acting on them that can be a problem.
